Timely completion of water treatment project urged
    2019-09-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

GUO ZIPING, head of the Bao’an District Government, inspected a sewage treatment project and flood control and waterlogging drainage project at the entry of the Pailao River in Shajing Subdistrict on Aug. 27.

The structural work for the sewage treatment project and flood control and waterlogging drainage project has been finished, and the auxiliary work for the ecological restoration as well as bank greening is in the final stage.

Guo visited the Pailao River on Aug. 6 and said she would come back to check on the progress. This time, she pointed out that the project was being conducted at a slow pace and she would continue to pay close attention to it.

Guo ordered the staff to do the job in a methodical way following a timetable that they ought to set as soon as possible.

Pailao River, located in Shajing Subdistrict, is a branch of the Maozhou River. Before the treatment, water in the channel was at a low level, and flooding and waterlogging happened frequently. The disordered buildings on both sides of the river also contributed to poor living environments. Shenzhen Water Group has worked on the water treatment for the Maozhou River.  (Chen Siqi)
