New Nokia phones range from cute to sophisticated
    2019-09-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

诺基亚发布五款新品 翻盖手机吸睛

HMD Global, the maker of Nokia-branded phones, announced five new phones at the annual IFA 2019 technology convention in Germany last week.

Nokia 7.2

The Nokia 7.2 is HMD’s successor to the lauded midrange Nokia 7.1 from 2018, but it looks so different. The spotlight is on the camera, which has a triple-lens system and Zeiss optics. The PureDisplay screen is bigger at 6.3 inches, and it continues to support always-on HDR* for richer colors and improved contrast. The Nokia 7.2 has a unique feature that turns it into a smart speaker when it’s put into Ambient Mode, which is when it charges. It means the microphones will perk up listening for the, “Hey, Google” trigger, making it easy to pick up your voice commands. The phone comes in charcoal, cyan green, and ice and costs US$349.

Nokia 6.2

The Nokia 6.2 is almost exactly the same as the Nokia 7.2. Hardware-wise, they share similarities such as a 6.3-inch PureDisplay screen with the same HDR technology, as well as a teardrop notch. It also has the same polymer composite around the frame and Gorilla Glass 3 protecting the front and the back. The biggest difference lies with the camera: It’s still a triple-lens camera, but there’s no Zeiss optics. The bokeh* effects are still present as well as the Night mode. The Nokia 6.2 will cost about US$228 and comes in ice and charcoal.

Nokia 2720

HMD is remaking the classic Nokia flip phones of old with the Nokia 2720. It’s a 4G phone running KaiOS, an operating system that introduces smart features to dumbphones*. That includes modern-day amenities* like Google Maps, Google Assistant and WhatsApp. There’s a 1.3-inch screen on the front so you can see notifications*, and flip it open and you’re greeted to a 2.8-inch main screen. The keyboard has large buttons, as does the text on the display. The body of the phone is polycarbonate*, and comes in black and white. It costs about US$97.

Nokia 800 Tough

Nokia 800 Tough is the first rugged phone from HMD. The rubberized edges also mean the phone can survive drops onto concrete from as high as 1.8 meters. Like the Nokia 2720, it’s also a KaiOS 4G feature phone, so you get access to WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Assistant, and more. The battery can last 43 days in standby mode. It’s the perfect device to take camping or hiking. The Nokia 800 Tough is about US$119.

Nokia 110

The Nokia 110 is as basic as phones come but this phone doesn’t run KaiOS. It comes in blue, pink and black, and is only US$20.(SD-Agencies)
