City postpones adoption of new emissions rules
    2019-09-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE adoption of more stringent vehicle emissions standards will be postponed.

The National VI emissions standards had been scheduled to be implemented July 1. However, the Shenzhen vehicle administration authority announced Saturday that vehicles that meet National V emissions standards will still be eligible for registration in Shenzhen until Sept. 30.

National V vehicles should meet one of the following conditions to be eligible for registration: sold before June 30 with a unified receipt; owner has already finished a procedure to transfer the car’s plates from another city (cities in the Pearl River Delta not included) to Shenzhen before June 30; a new car waiting to be sold at a car dealership in Guangdong with a product certificate issued before June 30; an imported car with all procedures concluded before June 30.

Additionally, National V cars that are currently being used with license plates registered in the Pearl River Delta area can be re-registered in Shenzhen before June 30, 2023.   (Wang Jingli)
