Expo to open

THE 10th China Sourcing Summit will be held in East China’s Hangzhou City from Sept. 27 to 28, highlighting the use of digital technologies in service outsourcing.

More than a thousand representatives from industrial associations, government agencies and enterprises are expected to attend the event, according to Fan Shijie, a senior official with the Ministry of Commerce. This year’s expo will cover an area of about 4,000 square meters with a specific zone for service outsourcing demonstrations.

Guangzhou platforms

MORE than 10 collaborative innovation platforms are planned to be built in Guangzhou by 2021, with assistance from Hong Kong and Macao, local authorities said.

In the next three years, Guangzhou will set an overall goal to build the international innovation and technology hub and a comprehensive national science center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Guangzhou will also join hands with over 25 partners such as global universities and scientific research institutions, and build over 60 international scientific and technological cooperation bases by the end of 2021, according to the Guangzhou science and technology bureau.

Shrinking M&A

THE country saw shrinking mergers and acquisitions (M&A) both in terms of the number of deals and transaction volume, industrial data showed.

A total of 111 M&A deals were completed in China last month, down by 32.3 percent year on year, according to data released by domestic investment research institute Zero2IPO Research. The transaction volume of the 84 deals which have disclosed related information plunged by 84.1 percent year on year.
