Double checks

SHENZHEN North Railway Station started to double safety checks on passengers taking trains to Beijing on Sunday.

Passengers taking G80, D902, D904, D910 and D928 need to arrive at the station one to two hours in advance.

Starting today, Shenzhen Railway Station will also double the safety checks on passengers heading to Beijing.

Cab accident

A CAB lost control and overturned after hitting the safety island at the intersection of Bulong Road and Meilong Boulevard on the night of Sept. 14.

Four people were injured, the accident was caused by speeding on the slippery road.

Transport cards

THE Shenzhentong card operator officially issued a new transport card with the China T-Union logo that can be used nationwide in more than 300 cities. In Shenzhen, the cards support all modes of public transport, including buses, Metro trains and cabs.

Costing 20 yuan (US$2.82), the cards are available at Shenzhentong outlets and on its app.

Cab registrations

TO be registered for app-based service, cabs must be electricity-powered, according to amendments to the management of app-based cabs that were recently approved by a city government executive meeting.

Statistics from the city’s transport authority show that 17 app-based cab operators have obtained licenses from the city, and 10 of them have started operation. A total of 58,000 vehicles have registered for the service.

CIEP in April

THE 18th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) will be held April 14-15 next year, the organizers said at a preparatory meeting Monday.
