Effort urged on water treatment projects
    2019-09-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

GUO ZIPING, head of the district government, urged each unit to speed up projects on the treatment of odorous and polluted water during an inspection tour of Xixiang, Hangcheng and Fuyong subdistricts, according to the Bao’an Daily.

At present, the water treatment projects outside the airport are in their final stage. A new 6.06-kilometer sewage interception pipeline has been built along the river, flowing along Airport South Road and into the mouth of the Pearl River.

Guo listened and learned about the situations reported by relevant units and urged each unit to take the work seriously while visiting the airport.

Guo then visited the “Fenghuang machinery city,” a secondhand excavator trading market, where she inspected flood discharge channels and rainwater pipes. The market’s pollution issue resulted from weak infrastructure and the indiscriminate disposal of various kinds of waste.

The subdistrict and relevant departments have inspected the area and punished 28 illegal constructions along the river in the area. A total of six illegal sewage outlets have been closed. All repair services that produced oil waste were required to be suspended.

Next, the subdistrict will include the “machinery city” into its supervision network, establish a disposal mechanism for dangerous waste and improve the infrastructure in the area to build a sound and green environment, according to the report.  (Wang Jingli)
