Bus collapses wall at rail station
    2019-09-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A BUS driver lost control at the bus terminal of Shenzhen North Railway Station and ran into the wall five meters from the front of the terminal, which caused it to collapse.

After the accident Wednesday afternoon, the Route E11 driver claimed he had mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, resulting in the accident.

A release by the Shenzhen transport bureau later that night said the accident was caused by an operation mistake. A passenger surnamed Xi, who was slightly injured on a corner of an eye by broken glass, left hospital after simple treatment.

The driver, surnamed Lyu, also suffered slight injuries to his hands.

Police said an investigation found that the driver was not driving under the influence of alcohol.

By 6 p.m. that day, the accident scene had been cleared and traffic was restored to normal order.  (Han Ximin)
