THE China Pavilion was officially opened at 100% Design, the largest and longest-running design trade event for industry professionals in the United Kingdom, at London’s Olympia exhibition center Wednesday, British time.

This is the sixth consecutive year that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Shenzhen Municipal Government have presented the China Pavilion at 100% Design.

The pavilion aims to highlight Chinese designs and promote the global reach of China’s industrial design.

The China Pavilion has an exhibition area covering nearly 200 square meters, which has gathered 30 domestic exhibitors from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other provinces and municipalities.

The exhibits cover home design, interior decoration, household appliances, wine packaging design, traditional Suzhou embroidery, skin-care gadgets, consumer electronics, drones and original watch brands.

In 2011, Shenzhen Industrial Design Association was commissioned by the city government to organize an industrial design team comprised of outstanding Shenzhen companies to debut at 100% Design, becoming the first Chinese exhibitor at the exhibition.

The China Pavilion, which was upgraded from the Shenzhen Pavilion in 2014, is organized by Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau and Shenzhen Industrial Design Industry Association.

First launched in 1995, 100% Design is London’s leading design exhibition and is a part of the London Design Festival.

With a total exhibition area of about 22,000 square meters, this year’s 100% Design is expected to attract 27,000 industry professionals from around the world. The exhibition will run through Saturday, British time.
