Toll station in Bao’an to be put into use
    2019-10-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOLL station for vehicles traveling from Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway to Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center in Fuyong Subdistrict, Bao’an District, will be put into operation Nov. 3, Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau said.

The toll station, which has 17 fee-collection lanes, including six tidal lanes, is currently being tested and will complete trial operation before the end of the month.

The test shows it takes 15 minutes to get from Qianhai Toll Station to Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center Toll Station. The center is about 200 meters westward along Fengtang Boulevard from the exhibition and convention center toll station.

The Shenzhen section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway starts at Dongbao River Bridge in the north and runs 30.9 kilometers southward to the intersection of Yueliangwan Boulevard and Dongbin Road.

The toll station has 11 lanes for leaving the expressway and six lanes for entering the expressway. Seven of the lanes are electronic toll collection lanes. The six reversible lanes can be adjusted according to the number of vehicles coming to or leaving from the exhibition and convention center.

The operation of the toll collection center marks connectivity between the exhibition and convention center and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway. It will effectively improve the traffic relief capability in the area around Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center. At present, there are no Metro lines connected to the center. Drivers from Guangzhou and Dongguan, or Xixiang and Qianhai, can reach the area via the riverside expressway.
