CHINESE actress Zhang Ziyi has recently announced her pregnancy, simultaneously debunking previous rumors that she has given birth to her second child.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress shared the good news on Weibo following her appearance at the 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival on Tuesday, where she serves as the President of the Jury.

Accompanied with a photo of her showing off her baby bump, Zhang wrote, “Today I am the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival’s head jury. In the coming days, my four colleagues and I will select seven out of 14 works to be awarded.”

“Today I am also a dedicated career woman who is going to be a mother, 30 weeks along, weighing 128 pounds (and continues to increase). Both these identities make me very proud. Thank you for your care and support for all this time,” she added.

Making an appearance at the opening ceremony for the film festival, Zhang shared the news again in person after accepting interviews in both English and Mandarin. Besides being excited for her second baby, the actress also thanked everyone for entrusting her with the important chairman position at the film festival.

Married in 2015 to Chinese musician Wang Feng, Zhang welcomed her first daughter Wang Xingxing that same year. She also has two stepdaughters from Wang’s previous relationship and marriage.
