CHINA Railway Express Co. Ltd. are operating four high-speed trains out of Shenzhen North Railway Station each day until Nov. 20 to deliver parcels purchased during the Double 11 shopping frenzy, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. The four trains are operating between Shenzhen and Wuhan, Guilin, Zhengzhou and Xi’an. This is the fourth year the railway operator has cooperated with courier service companies and e-commerce entities to provide delivery services for the Double 11 shopping festival. Nationally, China Railway Express has taken advantage of its railway network and transport resources to arrange 450 cargo trains and 22 high-speed trains, as well as reserve space on 181 high-speed passenger trains, to transport parcels. In cooperation with SF Express, the railway company introduced the fast delivery service in 2017. It now covers 69 high-speed railway stations in 61 cities. The revenue of the daily delivery service is expected to reach 1 million yuan (US$143,000). (Han Ximin) |
