Kotaro Oshio Kotaro Oshio is an acoustic guitarist from Japan. He is best known for his work on the steel string guitar. Oshio’s music is classified within various categories including pop, new age and jazz. His musical technique includes fingerpicking, tap harmonics and a unique strumming style referred to as a “nail attack” in which he slaps the strings with the nails of his middle and ring fingers which is inspired by Michael Hedges. While his albums include mostly original material, Oshio is also known for his covers and movie soundtracks. She began her career as an indie pop artist in Toronto in the mid-2000s, playing with local bands and writing and recording a handful of self-released albums. After relocating to Los Angeles, California in 2013, Hughes began working with Cirkut and Billboard and achieved success with her first single released under the name Allie X, “Catch,” which was well received by music critics. The song also rose to prominence after pop singer Katy Perry referred to it as her “spring jam” on social media. Allie X released her debut extended play in 2015, “CollXtion I,” followed by her debut studio album “CollXtion II” in 2017, and “Super Sunset” in 2018. In 2019, she also released an analog version of “Super Sunset,” as well as two singles: “Fresh Laundry” and “Rings a Bell.” Allie X cites many of her influences as being ABBA, Lady Gaga, Céline Dion and Mariah Carey. She has the vocal range of a soprano and describes her melodies as being “soaring pop, borderline theatrical Disney,” while her lyrics, “always seem to be darker.” Time: 8 p.m., Nov. 29 Tickets: 280 yuan Florent Mothe Florent Mothe is a French actor and musician. He is most famous for playing the role of Antonio Salieri in “Mozart, L’opéra Rock.” He formed his first band, Lost Smile, in 1996, and toured for around six years between France and Germany. He also sang at other bars and cafes in Canada and the United States. His performances and recordings on his Myspace page brought him to the attention of Dove Attia and Albert Cohen, producers of “Mozart, L’opéra Rock.” In 2010, he was awarded the title of Francophone Discovery of the Year at the NRJ Music Awards. His first solo album, “Rock in Chair,” was released in 2013.
