CPI increases

SHENZHEN’S CPI in October increased by 0.8 percent compared with September due to pork and food prices running high, statistics from the Shenzhen survey team of the National Statistics Bureau showed.

Though the increase slowed by three percentage points compared with previous month, it showed a four percent increase compared with October 2018.

In October, the pork price increased by 14.9 percent over the previous month. The prices for beef and lamb also increased by 4.9 percent and 4.7 percent, respectively.

No value added taxes

SHENZHEN’S apartments whose sizes are below 144 square meters and have been owned for more than two years will be exempted from value added taxes starting Nov. 11, according to a policy released by the Shenzhen taxation bureau.

Extension of Line 9

THE extension of Metro Line 9 of Shenzhen is expected to be put into operation Nov. 28 after a final safety assessment, which is underway, www.sznews.com reported yesterday, quoting a source from the Shenzhen rail construction and command office.

The extension line, running through Nanshan CBD and Qianhai, starts from Hongshuwan Station and ends at Qianwan Station, the interchange station of Line 5.

Bridge dismantled

THE demolition of the Xiangmi Road flyover spanning Shennan Boulevard in Shenzhen was completed Nov. 11, five days ahead of schedule, according to the Shenzhen Metro company.

A makeshift steel bridge has been put into use to ensure normal traffic flow.

The dismantlement is part of the traffic improvement project at Xiangmihu Transport Hub. After renovation, the elevated bridge will have six two-way lanes and the ground-level auxiliary road will have eight lanes linking roads in the Chegongmiao area.
