Lin Lin linlinasa@163.com TO walk around your future home, all you need is a pair of VR glasses. This is what XVR, a Norwegian company, has brought to the 21st China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) – using VR technology to visualize apartments in development. Generally, it takes one or two days for XVR to build a VR model of an apartment. With the digital model, customers can explore an apartment as if they’re in it. They can see how it looks and how spacious it is, and even enjoy the views from the windows with previously taken pictures . They also can “redecorate” the apartment with VR facilities, such as choosing floors and moving the furniture around. “Whenever there’s a new building, cooperation starts between the real estate developers and us. Then the departments sell much faster because people know more about what they’re buying. They’ve been inside the apartment,” said Filip Elverhoy, CEO of the company. Talking about the purpose of their participation, Filip said they’re seeking opportunities to work with Chinese technology companies as well as real estate developers and investors. “This is a new way of selling new real estate. We’d like to offer Scandinavian design combined with Chinese technologies. If we combine those two, it will become powerful,” he added. |
