SHENZHEN’S garment industry experts discussed the establishment of an original platform for Shenzhen-created apparel in an effort to generate global “innovation capital” at the 2019 TTCity Cultural and Creative Forum held Nov. 24 in Nanyou, Nanshan District.

Some new ideas and constructive opinions formed at the forum are expected to provide guidance for helping Nanyou’s professional market in Shenzhen to further promote innovation and development.

Qian Mengyuan, chairman of TTCity, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yunzhi Data and Shanghai Shitang Showroom, stating the two parties will cooperate to build the apparel platform through the creation of a “TTCity smart platform” and connections with global fashion buyers.

Through the platform, TTCity aims to create a gathering point for global fashion buyers. The value of the platform is that it aids clothing brands, designers and merchants in generating value.

Guest speaker at the forum Dr. Han Wangxi, director of the Shenzhen Innovation and Creative Design Development Office, mentioned that clothing is no longer a traditional industry but rather a cultural and creative industry. Designers need to possess creative expression rooted in cultural appreciation, aesthetics and psychology, Han said.

Shen Yongfang, president of the Shenzhen Apparel Industry Association, said that many design incubation platforms have appeared from the wholesale market in Shenzhen’s Nanyou community, which indicates that the development of the garment industry in Shenzhen has reached a certain stage.
