THE 19th International Comic Artist Conference, dubbed the “Olympics” in the field of comics, will be held next year in Langfang City, North China’s Hebei Province.

This will mark the 10th time that the conference has taken place in China, with the previous events being held in Beijing, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The cartoon gala has been held each year since it was first initiated by related organizations in Japan, South Korea as well as the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan in 1996, according to the publicity department of Langfang.

During the 18th International Comic Artist Conference held in Japan from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, over 1,000 pieces of comic works were exhibited.
