Meaning:

Literally translated as “course representative,” this Chinese term originally refers to students who excel in certain courses at school and are chosen by the teacher to help collect homework and do other chores related to the course. Chinese netizens now use the term to refer to those who are very familiar with a hot trending issue (often some celebrity gossip) and readily share their knowledge about its ins and outs and latest development online. Sometimes, they use the term as a verbal phrase that means “to explain something in detail.”
