MARIAH CAREY put a spin on her classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” with a new music video, released Thursday. “We wanted to make a modern classic,” Carey said during a YouTube livestream for the video’s debut. “It’s kind of the opposite of the original video. This is more of a production.”

The video is complete with ice skating Santas and Carey in her own version of a Santa suit. Though it’s been 25 years since the song debuted, Carey is still riding its wave of unfaltering success.

Breakup

CHANNING TATUM and Jessie J called it quits just over a year after they were first linked together in October 2018. Tatum, 39, and Jessie, 31, last stepped out publicly in October, when Jessie shared several shots of their outing. The two were first seen together at a mini golf date last year, with People confirming they were an item just months after Tatum split from ex-wife Jenna Dewan. Tatum and Dewan share 6-year-old daughter Everly.

Box office

THE overwhelming weekend winner in the Chinese box office will be Donnie Yen’s franchise finisher, “Ip Man 4: The Finale,” which features the action star’s final performance as the titular martial arts master who famously trained Bruce Lee. “Ip Man 4,” released Friday, had brought in US$38.5 million by 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to statistics from Maoyan.

In second place was holdover Chinese thriller “Sheep Without a Shepherd,” with a total of US$73 million from its 10-day run.

Disney and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” also released Friday, came third with US$11.49 million, followed by Feng Xiaogang’s comeback feature, “Only Cloud Knows,” a romantic tragedy based on a true story.(SD-Agencies)
