Car license plates

THE city’s transport authority said the city doesn’t have any plan to revise its policy related to car control.

A screenshot on the relaxation or cancellation of Shenzhen’s car license plate limit went viral online recently. An investigation conducted by the transport authority showed that the screenshot is a cropped post by a netizen who had made suggestions about the car control policy in Shenzhen. The screenshot crops out the word “suggestions,” which led to the misunderstanding.

During a lottery for free license plates in the city Thursday, individual applicants snapped up 2,933 plates and the remaining 400 plates went to work units. The winning rate for individuals’ car license plates was as low as 0.23 percent.
