THE country’s first 5G+AIoT industrial demonstration park was unveiled at COFCO Wise R&D Center in Bao’an District on Dec. 19, with the city’s latest 5G base station being put into service at the park, the Bao’an Daily reported.

Jointly built by the COFCO Wise R&D Center and China Mobile Shenzhen branch, the park adopts advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing to improve its management and service levels and build an intelligent park operation system.

The park gathers resources of strategic emerging industries and aims to explore and build a national benchmark smart park for urban renewal and innovative industries.

The operation of the new 5G base station in Bao’an was also a milestone for Shenzhen as the city had completed its goal for 2019 of constructing 15,000 5G base stations.

The launch ceremony also witnessed the inauguration of Shenzhen 5G Application and Innovation Alliance, as well as Shenzhen Information Infrastructure Investment Co. Ltd.

In 2019, Bao’an built 3,600 5G base stations, and 8,000 more will be built in 2020, ranking it first in the city both in terms of the number of planned and completed base stations, according to the district.

Meanwhile, Bao’an is actively exploring 5G scenarios and industrial applications. It will take the lead in building more than 10 scenarios in the fields of government affairs, police service, exhibitions and more.

At present, Bao’an has pioneered the building of a 5G intelligent international administrative service hall in China.   (Zhang Yu)
