A MEETING to share the operating mode of Shenzhen Bao’an High School Group was held at its main campus Saturday. Bao’an Party chief Yao Ren attended the meeting and asked to promote the school group’s experience in the district, the Bao’an Daily reported. 2019 marks the fourth year of operation for Shenzhen Bao’an High School Group and the 35th anniversary of Bao’an High School. Bao’an High School was initiated in 1984 with eight classes and 360 students. Thirty-five years later, the school has developed into a school group combining six campuses, including primary and secondary schools, with 290 classes and more than 15,000 students and teachers. After Bao’an High School Group was established, the students’ enrollment rate at key universities increased to 90 percent and became among the top in the city. The school’s teachers, including principal Peng Duanhua, boast four winners of professional teachers competitions. In this way it has promoted the High School Campus to become a country-level demonstration high school. According to incomplete statistics, 110 graduates have received doctoral degrees or are doctoral students. Numerous alumni are outstanding in all walks of life. In the past year, thanks to the alumni and social enterprises, Shenzhen Bao’an School Group has distributed 1 million yuan (US$143,352) to its teachers as awards. Yao said that education spending in Bao’an has increased three times in five years and will grow to 13 billion yuan in 2020. Bao’an is making an all-out effort to support the quality of education development. Yao pointed out that education is a core competence, supporting the hope of the family and Bao’an. The district has to summarize the experience of the school group, and duplicate the experience of Bao’an High School Group and principal Peng to promote the maximum utilization of advanced education resources.
