Marine radar system launched by State-level high-tech firm
    2020-01-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LOCAL company Shenzhen Nitech Co. Ltd. recently held a press conference and launched its latest navigation radar system RD-2060, which is said to have achieved multiple breakthroughs, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported Monday.

Nitech is a State-level high-tech enterprise focusing on R&D, production and technical services in the field of marine safety and information.

According to the firm’s technicians, the RD-2060 radar system was independently developed by the company for five years. It adopts a high-speed data processor and features high-definition target display, fast target tracking and gain control, as well as wave and snow suppression functions.

The radar system excels at detecting extremely small targets. For instance, it can detect consumable drones within 1.3 kilometers and has various applications for ships and the shore-based monitoring of sea and airspace.

Experts pointed out that marine electronics have long been monopolized by the enterprises of Europe, the United States, Japan and other developed countries. At present, international brands account for more than 95 percent of the market share in the domestic marine radar market.

According to statistics, the marine radar market in China has reached more than 30 billion yuan (US$4.35 billion), with an increase of 30,000 systems every year, which forecasts huge market potential.

Compared with imported products, Nitech’s radar system has lower prices and can save up to 40 percent in costs.
