Chen Xiangbo exhibits rat-themed paintings
    2020-01-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Chinese painter Chen Xiangbo, who is the director of Guan Shanyue Art Museum, is exhibiting his rat-themed paintings at Bense Art Space inside Shenzhen Book City’s CBD Store to welcome the Year of the Rat.

Chen graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1986 and later obtained his master’s degree in Chinese painting from the academy in 1994. His style is not only traditional in form, but all his works about the Orient — depicting harmony between nature, life, air and space — are delicately rendered on paper or scrolls.

Ranking first in the Chinese zodiac, the rat represents smartness and vitality. The Funko Pop Mickey Mouse toys, which feature a wide variety of Mickey Mouse figures, are also on sale at the exhibition.

Dates: Until March 5 (closed Jan. 24-29)

Venue: Bense Art Space, 2/F, South Area, Shenzhen Book City’s CBD Store, Futian District (福田区深圳书城中心城二楼本色艺术空间)

Metro: Line 3 or 4 to Children’s Palace Station (少年宫站), Exit A(SD News)
