A 30.8-KILOMETER lakeside ecological way, which is part of the Shanhehu urban landscape belt in Shiyan Subdistrict, Bao’an District, officially opened to the public Sunday morning. The ecological way is the longest of its kind in Shenzhen so far, according to the Bao’an Daily. The urban landscape belt features a mountain, river and lake, as its name implies, with “shan,” “he,” and “hu” meaning mountain, river and lake in Chinese, respectively. The belt connects Yangtai Mountain, Shiyan River and Shiyan Lake. To elevate the landscape of Yangtai Mountain, a 9-kilometer-long footpath joins with the original mountain trail to form a special route for mountaineers. Meanwhile, new sightseeing areas have been built along the route to help attract more tourists. The Shiyan River landscape project covers a total construction area of 266,900 square meters. Riverside ecological ways on the riverbanks run a total of 10 kilometers and eight new waterfront squares have been built. The riverside ecological way connects various municipal, wetland and ecology-themed parks and 32 main landscape spots. It has nine entrances and exits, four new parking lots, 2,110 parking spaces, 10 squares, one standard football field, three standard basketball courts, four rest areas and four public toilets.
