Lady Gaga announces new album ‘Chromatica’
    2020-03-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LADY GAGA is giving her little monsters what they want: the name and release date of her upcoming album.

The singer, 33, took to Twitter on Monday to reveal the project’s name, “Chromatica,” adding that it’s “coming April 10.”

“This is not the album cover but we made it for you to enjoy in the meantime,” she added with a kiss emoji.

Judging by the album’s page on iTunes, the album will contain 16 songs and be executive produced by Gaga and producer/songwriter Bloodpop (Michael Tucker). “Chromatica” will be availabe in such physical formats as standard CD, various vinyl colors and cassette, according to variety.com.

Fans can pre-order and pre-save the album on all music platforms now.

The latest details of the project come just days after Gaga released the track “Stupid Love” on Friday. The song marked her first new music since she starred in the 2018 “A Star Is Born” remake and took home an Academy Award for best original song for “Shallow,” her chart-topping duet with co-star and director Bradley Cooper.

“Stupid Love” dropped with a spectacular music video that exploded with the pop star’s signature use of bold colors, tightly choreographed group dances and a somewhat bewildering storyline.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Gaga discussed the upcoming project.

“Sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what ‘Chromatica’ is all about,” she said. “I live on Chromatica, that is where I live. I went into my frame – I found Earth, I deleted it. Earth is canceled. I live on Chromatica.”

“It’s about healing and it’s about bravery as well, and it’s really like, when we talk about love I think it’s so important to include the fact that it requires a ton of bravery to love someone,” she continued.

It will be her first studio release since 2016’s “Joanne,” though, the interim was marked by several projects, not the least of which was a starring role in the Oscar-nominated “A Star Is Born.”
