SF Express to up intl. cargo routes
    2020-03-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN-BASED logistics giant SF Express will increase its international cargo routes to 13 between February and April to ensure that export and import businesses suffer as little impact as possible from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak that is sweeping the whole world.

According to carnoc.com, SF Express launched two new international cargo routes yesterday, serving import and export businesses between Wuxi in Jiangsu Province and Singapore as well as between Changchun in Jilin Province and Incheon in South Korea.

The logistics giant earlier launched Shenzhen-Osaka, Japan, Shenzhen-Singapore and Shenzhen-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, cargo routes, in addition to the resumption of five international cargo routes that include Hangzhou-New York City, Wuxi-Chongqing-Jaen (Spain)-Wuxi, Shenzhen-Delhi (India), Guangxi’s Nanning-Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), as well as Shenzhen-Chennai (India) since Feb. 13, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

SF Express said the move was made in response to the cancellation and adjustment of many international cargo routes operated by other logistics companies due to the recent epidemic outbreak in overseas countries.

The Shenzhen logistics company has delivered a total of 108 tons of medical supplies including face masks, preventive clothing and gloves from Chinese organizations, enterprises and individuals to the United States, Germany, Italy and 36 other countries and regions between March 1 and 14.

Statistics from SF Express showed that the company currently operates a weekly 20 cargo flights to overseas cities, carrying 18,572 tons of import and export cargo each week.

The logistics company said it will launch more international cargo routes in the next two months to help more enterprises resume production.
