Trains carrying 1.2 tons of mail set off for Europe
    2020-03-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

TWO Europe-China trains carrying nearly 1.2 tons of mails set off from Shenzhen to 18 European countries including the United Kingdom, France and Germany on the Silk Road route Saturday, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

As the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe turns graver by the day, there is a growing demand for preventative materials and daily necessities in these countries. Such international postal services are significant channels for cross-border e-businesses as well as the transport of personal materials.

The Shenzhen Post has joined hands with the Shenzhen Customs of Postal Services to use its cross-border e-business service platform to allow fast customs clearance. Clearance time is said to have been reduced by 50 percent to ensure the quick processing of deliveries.

Transporting mail on the Europe-China railway marks a new breakthrough in terms of both land carriage modes of transportation carried out by the Shenzhen Post and the Shenzhen Customs of Postal Services’ fast-acting supervision, which will play a key role in promoting the export business.

The freight service is also meeting customers’ needs and expectations.  (Wang Jingli)
