MUNICIPAL public facilities in Futian CBD, including the Shenzhen Library, Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning, Shenzhen Museum, and Guan Shanyue Art Museum, reopened to the public yesterday after being forced to close for months due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Other such venues as the Shenzhen Children’s Library in Futian, and Shenzhen Art Museum and Shenzhen Fine Art Institute in Luohu District also opened yesterday with measures in place to ensure public safety.

Booking either online or by telephone is required before entering all of these places except the Shenzhen Fine Art Institute, which requires on-site real-name registration.

Some venues also put a limit on the number of visitors allowed in at one time. For example, the Shenzhen Library only allows as many as 300 visitors at one time inside the building while Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning permits a total of 400 visitors each day.

The Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning, Shenzhen Museum, and Shenzhen Fine Art Institute remain closed to group visits.

Individual visitors must provide ID information and a health report and will be screened for body temperature before entering all these facilities.

Additionally, each visitor must wear a face mask and is encouraged to keep a distance from others to avoid unnecessary contact.

Due to the epidemic, many venues have changed visiting hours. Citizens are advised to check official WeChat accounts for updated information.

Visitors can enjoy an exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen as a special economic zone at Shenzhen Art Museum till April 5.   (Related story on P7)
