Numbers in China

A TOTAL of 35 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all from abroad, six deaths and 55 asymptomatic cases were reported on the Chinese mainland as of Wednesday, according to China’s National Health Commission. There are now a total of 1,075 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation. The total number of recovered cases rise to 76,408.

Summit postponed

THE U.N. has postponed an important climate summit scheduled to be held in Glasgow, U.K., in November due to disruption caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Free childcare

AUSTRALIAN Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced a free childcare program amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The childcare will be free for all parents who require their children in care so they can continue to work from Monday next week.

Death toll mark

THE number of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Spain surpassed the 10,000 mark on Thursday. The number of confirmed cases rose to 110,238.
