    2020-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ENTERPRISES in Shenzhen can apply for four categories of Shenzhen Science Awards starting from May 6.

The Mayor’s Award, the top prize of Shenzhen Science Awards, is 3 million yuan (US$422,791). Projects with a breakthrough in science and technology or a great contribution to scientific or technological development can apply for the awards.

The first prizes for the awards in natural science and technological inventions are 1 million yuan. The science achievements are required to have been published for at least two years.

The first prizes in the categories of technological development and major engineering projects for the Science and Technology Advancement Award is 1 million yuan, while the first prize for the public-benefit category of the advancement award is 500,000 yuan. Each submitted project is required to have national patent approval, and have been put into use for two years or more.

According to the Shenzhen Municipal Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, the organizer of the awards, major applicants are required not to be science award winners of the past two years.

Technologies that have played important roles in COVID-19 prevention and control will not be subject to the aforementioned requirements, said the commission.

Applicants can register at https://sticapply.sz.gov.cn/, the official website of the commission, before June 14 and hand in paper documents before June 19 at counters 5-42 of the administrative hall of Shenzhen Civic Center in Futian CBD.

For details, applicants can call 0755-26037122, the service line of the commission.
