Land in temporary use to be reclaimed
    2020-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city will reclaim a total of 552 pieces of land that were offered on a temporary basis but still remain occupied past their due date, by the end of the year. The land lots covered 4.44 square kilometers as of last May, according to a plan published by the Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau recently.

This is said to be the city’s move to prevent loss of land resources and to improve use and efficiency of the land.

Districts will be responsible for specific works and building up long-term mechanisms to better manage temporary land use.

According to the plan, a dedicated solution should be in place for each piece of property. Documents should be filled out when reclaiming land before its inclusion to the State-owned land reserve bank.

New contracts or renewed contracts should be signed if an application for an extension of the temporary use of a land parcel is approved.

Additionally, land supply policies and plans should be reviewed by district governments. Related authorities should ensure the implementation of penalties when an inappropriate use of land occurs.
