Police trooper helps wife deliver baby on side of highway
    2020-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A POLICE trooper in Massachusetts, the United States, helped his wife to deliver their new baby boy on the side of a highway last month.

Officials said Trooper George D’Amelio was on duty on the night of April 17 when his wife called to say she was going into labor. D’Amelio, who is assigned to the barracks in Brookfield, rushed home.

While driving to the hospital, D’Amelio had to pull over and deliver the baby boy.

“He immediately left and returned home to find his wife was in active labor then quickly loaded into their personal vehicle to head to a hospital in New Hampshire,” state police said.

“We want to thank Troopers Mark Dore and Brad Pierson of the New Hampshire State Police, along with members of the Bedford, N.H. Fire Department, who assisted Trooper D’Amelio in the delivering of his child,” state police said.

D’Amelio and his wife, Christine, named the baby boy Jackson.(SD-Agencies)
