Bus route 103 closed
    2020-05-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city’s bus route 103 has suspended service for good Monday, after 26 years of operation, the Daily Sunshine reported.

Starting Monday, the route was divided into two shorter bus routes, M103 (western section of the original route) and M199 (eastern extension section of the original route), to better satisfy citizens and tourists’ travel demands.

“The adjustment of the route will increase the operation efficiency of our buses. At the same time, we will upgrade the bus model to improve travel conditions for passengers,” said Tang Zhilin, head of Xiasha bus team.

Route 103 is said to be the city’s first bus route to the eastern tourist areas. It ran through Futian, Luohu and Yantian districts.

An important bus route, Bus 103 has provided great convenience to citizens, said the report.

“I drove Bus 103 on May 10 for the last time. At 5 p.m. that day, I cleaned the bus and got myself ready for the new route service,” said Zhou Xiaobing, a driver of Bus 103, adding that “once I spent 10 hours running a one-way trip when there was a heavy traffic jam.”
