Hive Box adjusts its charging fee
    2020-05-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HIVE Box has made an adjustment of its charging standard after having a talk with the State Post Bureau, the company said in a statement published on its official WeChat account Friday.

The State Post Bureau arranged a talk with Shenzhen Hive Box Technology Co. Ltd. on Wednesday to discuss policy adjustments after members of the public complained about the fees being unreasonable, according to the administration’s official WeChat account.

Officials with Hive Box said they will take it seriously and uphold their social responsibility. The company will solve the problem immediately and cooperate with the administration.

The company said in the statement that it would adjust the charge of non-members to 0.5 yuan (US$0.07) every 12 hours if they do not retrieve their packages from smart lockers within 18 hours of delivery, an extension of six hours from the previous 12-hour deadline. The extra charge will be capped at 3 yuan.

Packages that are put in the Hive Box during national public holidays will not be charged, and the time will not be counted during weekends for packages that are locked in the Hive Box in office buildings.

Those who purchase the 5-yuan monthly membership or 12-yuan seasonal membership will have an extra one-month membership, the statement said.

Members are able to leave their packages in lockers for up to seven days without incurring a charge.

The adjustments will become effective starting Wednesday.
