False claims of jobless benefits illegal: authority
    2020-05-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IT is illegal for those who have found a job after being unemployed to continue claiming unemployment benefits, said the Shenzhen social insurance fund management bureau.

Violators will be fined two to five times the amount of benefits they illegally received. If behaviors are believed to constitute crimes, residents will be handed over to judicial authorities for prosecution.

When residents illegally receive benefits that exceed 10,000 yuan (US$1,408) or below 10,000 yuan but refused to return them, they will be added to the social credit blacklist, according to bureau officials.

The bureau reminds residents to cancel their claims for unemployment benefits after finding a new job, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The rule also applies when finding a new job outside Shenzhen.

Other circumstances where residents should also stop applying for benefits include when being called for military service, when migrating to a foreign country, when already claiming pension insurance benefits and when refusing recommended job opportunities and training without sufficient reasons.

Residents intending to cancel their claims for unemployment benefits can go to the “Shenzhen Social Insurance” WeChat account (szsi12333), social insurance self-service terminals, personal online service system, iShenzhen app (i深圳) and the “粤省事” mini program.
