Heavy rainfall

THE city recorded the strongest precipitation in the most recent 10 years between Friday and Monday.

The rainfall in Xiaomo Township in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone reached 665.3 millimeters, the heaviest in Guangdong Province, while Dapeng reported a 478-millimeter rainfall.

Fifteen meteorological stations across the city recorded rainfall of more than 250 millimeters and 158 stations recorded rainfall between 100 and 250 millimeters, data from Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory showed yesterday.

ETC service

ETC fast service stations will be built at all tollgates on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen highways with the aim to achieve a successful passing rate of 99 percent.

Mosquito map

THE city has updated its information on sites inhabited by mosquitoes, adding another 178 sites to the list. Relevant departments were arranged to handle killing mosquitoes at these sites.

Patent granted

A BLOCKCHAIN-BASED RFID technology for food safety monitoring developed by Shenzhen Customs received a patent certificate from the State Intellectual Property Office recently.

The technology builds a food safety monitoring system that creates a chain for the supervising customs relating to foods exporting to Hong Kong.

Online job fair

AN online job fair for college graduates of 2020 will be held June 18, the organizer Shenzhen Talent Service Center said.

Jobseekers and enterprises can now register their information on the WeChat account of the service center.

Cab driver attacked

A CAB driver was attacked by two passengers for reminding them to fasten their safety belts recently.

The driver, surnamed Dai, picked up the two passengers at 6:05 a.m., June 3 in Xili, Nanshan District. They verbally assaulted Dai and then beat him in the cab after Dai reminded them to fasten their safety belts twice.

Dai exited the cab and shouted for help. They chased him and took away his mobile phone before police officers arrived at the scene and caught one of the assailants.

Dai suffered slight injury and the case is still under investigation.
