Organ donation

A DECEASED man’s wife has donated his organs including heart, kidneys, liver and corneas to others following his death Monday.

His heart was rushed to Shenzhen International Airport in the heavy rain, and was later transplanted to a patient at a hospital in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. His liver and kidneys were also transplanted to two patients through surgeries at Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital.

On May 30, the man identified as Ah Ming collapsed and fainted in a dormitory, and was later pronounced brain dead.

Rail to Xiong’an

SHENZHEN residents will be able to take high-speed trains to Xiong’an New Area in the future, when the 4,390-km Beijing-Xiong’an-Shangqiu high-speed rail line is completed.

The environmental impact report released by Xiong’an New Area showed the rail line will be connected with Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway and Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway through the high-speed rail network.

Separate lane

DRIVERS of trucks are now required to operate in the separate, right lane along Fulong Road and Jihe Expressway; otherwise they will be fined 200 yuan (US$28) and have 3 penalty points added to their driving licenses.

The move is to separate light and heavy vehicles, improve road efficiency and reduce congestion, police said.
