Seven firms on Global 500 List
    2020-07-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOTAL of seven Shenzhen-based companies were included on the Fortune Global 500 List 2019, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The seven companies are Ping An (29th), Huawei (61st), Amer International Group (119th), Evergrande Group (138th), China Merchants Bank (188th), Tencent (237th), and Vanke (254th), according to the list.

Ping An, which focuses on three core financial businesses of insurance, banking and investment, was the first company in Shenzhen to be included on the Global 500 List.

Huawei was included in the Global 500 List for the first time in 2010, becoming the city’s second company on the list.

In 2012, China Merchants Bank (CMB) was added to the list. CMB has widely applied its service concept, “We are here just for you,” to many areas including poverty alleviation, education, environmental protection and public health.

Amer International Group first entered the Global 500 List in 2013, ranking No. 387.

The group has striven to develop industrial investment, the development of science and technology smart parks, strategic investment, financial investment, and trading platforms in recent years.

Both Evergrande and Vanke were first included on the list in 2016 while Tencent arrived on the list for the first time in 2017.

The cluster of headquarters was attributed to the city’s unremitting efforts to improve its business environment, said the report.

Shenzhen issued measures to enhance reform of the business environment in 2018.

It drafted 20 types of reform measures in six aspects, namely trade and investment environment, environment for talent development, environment for industrial development, e-government environment, green development environment and legal environment.
