This year’s event particularly focuses on recognizing outstanding Chinese entrepreneurs who aspire to upgrade their skills, relentlessly improve themselves and innovate, and play a key role in society and shoulder social responsibility during the COVID-19 outbreak. “Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we have repeatedly seen entrepreneurs serving as a driving force in overcoming challenges. With innovation, perseverance and optimism, plus strong commitment, entrepreneurs have contributed to the stable development of the economy and society amid the crisis,” said Jack Chan, chairman of the Ernst & Young member firms in China and EY greater China regional managing partner. The EOY program, recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious business accolades for entrepreneurs, honors those who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement. Established in the United States in 1986, EOY has grown to more than 145 cities in 60 countries and regions. The EOY China awards program, launched in 2006, is recognized for honoring entrepreneurs in China who achieve success by combining ability with opportunity. This year’s event mainly takes place in Shenzhen. During the webcast opening ceremony held Wednesday, past winners of EOY China awards and invited guests discussed the economic impact and entrepreneurs’ response under the threat of COVID-19 around the event’s theme. |
