Two paper-cutting exhibitions in town

Chinese paper-cutting, a hollow-out art form, is one of the oldest handicrafts in the country, having a history dating back more than 1,500 years. The content varies from animals and plants to vivid daily life scenes.

Nanshan Museum

More than 80 paper-cuttings created by people from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hebei Province, Hunan Province and Shenzhen are on display. Entry is free but visitors are required to book their visit in advance on the museum’s WeChat “nanshanmuseum.”

Dates: Until Aug. 30

UpperHills

Shenzhen’s landmarks, such as the Civic Center, Shenzhen Mangrove Nature Reserve, and the Shenzhen International Trade Building, are featured in vivid paper-cuttings. Entry is free and no booking is required.
