High-speed rail to have 3 stations in SZ section
    2020-09-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail will have three stations: Xili Station, Luohu North Station and Pingshan Station, according to an environment impact and control plan released Friday by the Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural resources Bureau.

The 126-kilometer high-speed rail between downtown Shenzhen and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone is designed to travel at 350 kilometers per hour. The Shenzhen section is 55.2 kilometers, and of the three stations, Xili and Luohu North stations will be built underground, while Pingshan Station will be on top of the elevated bridge.

The Shenzhen section occupies about 124 hectares of land within the ecological control line including Tanglang Mountain, Yinhu Mountain, Shenzhen Reservoir, Dawang Mountain and Shiguling Park, the plan showed.

The rail will pass these places underground, except the sections at the Shenzhen Reservoir and Songzikeng areas, will be crossed with elevated bridges.

The rail line starts from Xili Station in Nanshan District and connects with Guangzhou-Shanwei High-speed Rail at Shenshan Station in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone. It passes Huizhou South Station and Huidong Station in Huizhou.

Upon completion in 2025, the trip between Shenzhen and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone will be cut to 30 minutes.

Shenzhen plans to start construction on five intercity rails in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area within the year.

The five intercity lines include the Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail, Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Rail, Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail, the Longgang-Dapeng spur line and the Qianhai-Huanggang Checkpoint section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail. Work on Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail and Qianhai-Huanggang Checkpoint section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail was started recently.

The total length of the five rail lines is 410 kilometers and the total cost is estimated to stand at 201.8 billion yuan (US$29.5 billion). The Shenzhen-Shenshan High-speed Rail is budgeted at 38 billion yuan. It has been listed on the Guangdong 2020 Key Project Construction Plan.
