Local police offer rewards for reporting traffic offenses
    2020-09-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN traffic police will include seven types of offenses relating to e-bikes and vehicles into a reporting and rewarding mechanism.

For reporting violations, like falsifying and modifying licenses for e-bike registrations, the whistleblower can get a reward of 1,000 yuan (US$146) for each confirmed report.

For reporting vendors who sell e-bikes that fail specification standards of GB17761-2018, the whistleblower can get a reward of between 200 and 500 yuan for each confirmed case.

For reporting vehicles running outside of Shenzhen using counterfeit licenses of Shenzhen, the whistleblower will get 3,000 yuan for a confirmed violation. Those who report the vehicles that should have been scrapped but are still operating on roads will be rewarded 2,000 yuan for each verified report.

Those who report vehicles that have more than 50 unhandled traffic violations will be rewarded 1,000 yuan for each report. The reward will be lowered to 500 yuan for whistleblowers reporting heavy vehicles like trucks, oil tankers and mixture trucks that have 10-50 unhandled violations.

The same 500-yuan reward will be applied to whistleblowers who report tourism buses, public buses, school buses or vehicles carrying dangerous chemicals that have violated traffic laws for between three and 50 times.
