Seize last days of summer with Good Life Festival
    2020-09-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

With summer almost coming to the end, it’s time to seize the sunshine and join the coolest event this weekend. Organized by the China Merchants Culture Industry (CMCI), the second Good Life Festival will take place Sept. 12-13 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the open space of the Sea World Culture and Arts Center.

The Good Life Festival will present three main themes — creative marketplaces, art performances, and parties — to convey a C.E.O. (confident, energetic, optimistic) living attitude. Each theme is designed with a variety of activities, aiming to entertain not only visitors but also their beloved pets.

Never miss the creative marketplace! The Ocean Breeze Market is a platform for cultural and creative practitioners to display and sell their food and products, where visitors can taste the handmade snacks and even experience the fun of DIY.

To encourage families’ participation, there will be a barter corner for children to exchange their unneeded toys and gadgets and make new friends. On top of that, giving the old stuff a new life and reducing waste is a great opportunity to help children learn how to live a sustainable life.

If you’re a Mini Cooper enthusiast, you are going to be overwhelmed by the cool Mini Inspiration Camp invading the Good Life Festival. Moreover, the popular Mini trunk market will also appear as a surprise, selling “The Uniqueness of Life” in limited quantities. Mini Cooper is ready to catch your eyes and occupy your photo galleries!

Music and dance are indispensable in this event. Popular local live bands, dancers, and a Samba drummer are invited and the most interesting mascots parade will perk up the ambiance. While enjoying the concert on the lawn, having a picnic with friends or family, be reminded to look out for people nearby; maybe you will be surprised to discover that art is everywhere.

Chill out with a movie under the stars at Shekou’s chicest open-air cinema. As the sun sets, relax with friends and family as you settle in for a summer’s night of entertainment surrounded by the scenery of the sea.

In the weekend evenings, some vinyl lovers will take music back to the simpler times. Have you played silent disco? There is nothing cooler than having such a party at the art center; just put on the headphones and be wild!

Keen to participate in the event but worried about leaving your pets at home? It’s totally not an issue! Happy Hour for Pets is a great opportunity for pet-loving individuals and furry companions to meet new friends. There will be a workshop customizing portraits for your beloved pets and then optionally turn them into various accessories.

In order to spice up the engagement, there will be a stamp-collecting game for visitors to win gifts for completing the missions. The sooner you can collect more stamps, the greater the chance to win the grand prize.

Time: 3-9 p.m., Sept. 12-13

Venue: Sea World Culture and Arts Center, Nanshan District (南山区海上世界文化艺术中心)

Metro: Line 2 to Sea World Station (海上世界站), Exit A
