SZ to complete 600 km of ecological pathways by 2022
    2020-09-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN will complete construction of at least 600 kilometers of ecological pathways by the end of 2022 following an overall construction plan (2020-2035) of Guangdong Province, a news conference of the Guangdong Provincial Government said last week.

Based around the estuaries of the Guanlan River, Maozhou River, Dasha River, Longgang River, Pingshan River and Shenzhen River, the ecological pathways will reach at least 1,000 kilometers by 2025, according to the plan.

Of the total ecological pathways, 137 kilometers of demonstration sections will be built along the Maozhou River, Dasha River, Shenzhen River, Pingshan River and Longgang River by 2025, and 73 kilometers will be completed before the end of 2022.

In the agenda of the Guangdong government, the province will complete 5,200 kilometers of ecological pathways by the end of 2022. The length will reach 7,800 kilometers by 2025. In 2030, a network of 16,000 kilometers will cover the province.

The construction of ecological pathways in Guangdong Province will be created around the wetlands, estuaries, bays and mouths of the Dongjiang River, Xijiang River and Hanjiang River.
