Han Ximin ximhan@126.com SHENZHEN’S planning and natural resources bureau has unveiled the routes of the Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail and the Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Rail to seek public suggestions. Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail runs 68.8 kilometers in Shenzhen. It starts from Shenzhen airport and ends at Daya Bay, passing Shiyan, Longhua, Bantian, Dayun and Pingshan, boasting 11 stations along the way. The rail line is designed to operate at 160 kilometers per hour. The public can visit http://pnr.sz.gov.cn, the official website of the bureau and give suggestions by Oct. 21, either by calling 0755-8256-8793 or sending an email to szjtc@pnr.sz.gov.cn. The Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Rail runs 62.8 kilometers from Qianhai to Longgang, passing Qianhai, Xin’an, Xili, Taoyuan, Minzhi, Bantian, Jihua, Pinghu, Fenggang, Longcheng and Pingdi. It is designed to operate at 160 kilometers per hour and also has 11 stations. The public can give suggestions by calling 0755-83949345 or sending an email to szjtc@pnr.sz.gov.cn by Oct. 21. The city has planned to construct five intercity rails within the year to further connect the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The five intercity rail lines include Shenshan High-speed Rail, Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Rail, Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail, the Longgang-Dapeng spur line of Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail and the Qianhai-Huanggang Checkpoint section of Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail. The total length of the rails is 410 kilometers and they are estimated to cost 201.8 billion yuan (US$28 billion). Among the lines, the construction of the Shenzhen airport-Qianhai section of Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Rail has started. |
