AS of Saturday, a total of 246,880 people in Qingdao, East China’s Shandong Province, had been given nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 and showed negative results, after two dock workers working at the Qingdao Port were reported as asymptomatic COVID-19 cases Thursday, according to the city’s health commission’s update yesterday. As of Saturday, the city had combed 232 close contacts of the two workers, all of whom have been placed in quarantine and under close observation. The two workers, aged 40 and 45, had both handled imported frozen seafood Sept. 19. Nucleic acid tests Thursday revealed the two were positive for COVID-19. The health commission said the batch of imported products had not yet entered the market and has been sealed. (SD-Xinhua) |
