    2020-10-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE top 100 industry-leading companies in Shenzhen have been selected by the Shenzhen Industry Leader Corporate Development Promotion Association and Shenzhen Economic Daily, with the list having been announced for public review for seven days from yesterday to Monday.

The companies on the list are reported to have generated revenue of nearly 5 trillion yuan (US$746 billion) in 2019, an increase of nearly 20 percent year on year.

Looking at the distribution of the companies, 35 percent of the companies are located in Nanshan District, followed by Futian District with 21 percent and Bao’an District with 13 percent.

According to the Daily report, the selected enterprises are widely representative and cover most of the industries in Shenzhen. Many of the industries are leading the world in technology R&D and market share.

Industry experts, media, local lawmakers and political advisers, lawyers and representatives of business associations were invited to participate in the whole selection process, which included registration, recommendation, data review, enterprise research, preliminary evaluation, voting and expert evaluation.

More than 400 companies have applied for the selection, 80 percent of which made the applications independently, 15 percent were recommended by industry associations, and 5 percent were directly selected from the top 500 Chinese enterprises.
