Seven Shenzhen hospitals ranked among country’s top 100
    2020-11-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOTAL of seven hospitals from Shenzhen have been ranked among China’s top 100 Grade-III hospitals in the country’s first-ever appraisal of the country’s Grade-III public hospitals, the city’s health commission said Tuesday.

Two of the seven Shenzhen hospitals made it into the top 10, according to the released rankings.

Meanwhile, 11 hospitals in Shenzhen have been rated as Class-A hospitals. Among them, four hospitals at the municipal level were rated as A+.

The seven hospitals that entered the country’s top 100 include Shenzhen No. 2 People’s Hospital, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Shenzhen Bao’an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Shenzhen Hospital, Shenzhen Kangning Hospital and Shenzhen Children’s Hospital.

In particular, Shenzhen Kangning Hospital and Shenzhen Children’s Hospital took the 8th and 10th places in the rankings of their respective categories.

The appraisal, conducted by the national health authority in 2019, targeted the performance of a total of 2,398 Grade-III public hospitals in the country in 2018, among which 30 were from Shenzhen.

The hospitals were assessed based on 55 indicators divided into four aspects, specifically, health care quality, operational efficiency, sustainable development and satisfaction evaluation.

All hospitals participating in the appraisal obtained the qualification of Grade-III hospitals before January 2018. Grade-III hospitals are the highest of China’s three-tier grading system for hospitals.

At present, the main health indicators in Shenzhen have been stable at the level of developed countries and regions, said the city’s health commission.

Statistics show that the average life expectancy of residents has reached 81.54 years, the maternal mortality rate has dropped to 8.64 deaths per 100,000 live births, and the infant mortality rate has dropped to 1.53 deaths per 1,000 live births.

Shenzhen has also already completed 10 of the 13 objectives of “Healthy China 2030,” which is the country’s long-term health care vision, according to the commission.
