Survey shows pandemic worsens job hopping
    2020-11-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AROUND 70 percent of white-collar workers in Shenzhen have taken actions for job hopping such as preparing resumes in the fall season, 8 percentage points higher than the number recorded in the same period last year.

The intention to change jobs was mainly driven by salary and benefit levels, a report of zhaopin.com, an online job recruitment company, showed.

Among white-collar workers, 14.6 percent of them had changed jobs, while 56.3 percent of them updated their resumes to look for other opportunities.

The prospect of the company and the promotion ceiling are two other factors for job hopping.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, 90 percent of white-collar workers believe it is more difficult to find a job this year, but 40 percent claimed they would quit before finding a new job.

Around 56 percent of those surveyed claimed that salaries are lower due to COVID-19 and 51 percent think their company businesses have been affected by the pandemic, according to zhaopin.com.
