MOCAUP

More than 60 contemporary artworks created by 47 artists are on display at the “Shenzhen Times: Shenzhen Contemporary Art Archive Exhibition” at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MOCAUP) until Nov. 30. Entry is free. “Inside and Outside the Window,” an exhibition (89 yuan) reviewing the life and work of Chinese architect couple Lin Huiyin (1904-1955) and Liang Sicheng (1901-1972), is also being presented until Nov. 29.

C Future Lab

Let’s explore the future at C Future Lab’s “An Experiment of Future City” exhibition (128 yuan) running until March 31, 2021. Visitors can browse more than 100 past designs and projects by the Stockholm Design Lab created from 1998 to 2019. The exhibits are dotted with new media artworks, such as botanist Patrick Blanc’s “The Jungle Dragon Dance” and industrial designer Ross Lovegrove’s “The Cell.”

Hours: 1:30-9:30 p.m. (Tue.-Fri.), 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. (Sat.-Sun., holidays)

Venue: C Future Lab, 4/F, C Future City, Futian District (福田区中洲湾四楼中洲未来实验室)

Light show

Twelve light installations are dotting the centuries-old Dawan Ancestral Residence for the “Chant for the Luminosity” show running until Nov. 30. Entry is free and no sigh-up is necessary.

Venue: Dawan Ancestral Residence, Pingshan District (坪山区大万世居)

Transport: Take the high-speed rail from Futian Station or Shenzhen North Station to Pingshan Station and then take a taxi

Nantou Ancient Town

A 330-meter-long street inside the 1,700-year-old Nantou Ancient Town has been renovated recently with various historical, art and design exhibitions.

Venue: Nantou Ancient Town, Nanshan District (南山区南头古城)

Metro: Line 1 to Taoyuan Station (桃园站), Exit B, and then walk northward for 20 minutes
